What If Your ‘Off’ Days Had a Purpose?
What do you do on the days when you just don’t feel good—when motivation is nowhere to be found and everything feels a little… off?
Do you push through? Ignore it? Judge yourself for not being “on”?
Or do you allow yourself to sit in it for a minute—to get curious instead of critical?
I’ll be real with you: I have these days too. Sometimes more than once a day. (Because, surprise—I’m human!) There are moments when I stare at my to-do list, knowing I should get moving, but instead, I feel stuck, tired, or just meh.
And when that happens, I’ve learned that forcing myself to “snap out of it” doesn’t help. Instead, I try this:
✨ Pause & Acknowledge. Instead of pushing through, I ask myself: What’s actually going on here? No judgment, just curiosity.
✨ Ask Yourself…
What do I really need right now?
Is this a passing feeling, or is something deeper going on?
What’s one small thing I can do to shift my energy?
If I showed myself compassion in this moment, what would that look like?
✨ Take ONE Small Step. You don’t have to “fix” the day. Just choose one thing that feels good. Move your body. Blast a favorite song. Step outside. Call a friend. Do something—anything—that reminds you that you have a say in how this moment unfolds.
Because here’s the thing—your track record for getting through tough days? 100%.
Life isn’t always butterflies and rainbows, and that’s okay. But you get to decide which thoughts you breathe life into, and that choice is where your power lies.
So today, ask yourself:
What’s one thing I can do to support myself in this moment?
You’ve got this. And no matter what kind of day it is—you are still enough.
